Case Study
ARTI is a conceptual app that centralises project, portfolio, and deadline management for artists.
It also lets art lovers follow their favourite creatives and buy work directly. Designed from user insights, the app keeps workflows simple and the interface clean and flexible.

ARTI in 60 seconds

An app built by an artist, for artists.
ARTI helps artists stay on top of admin,
build a clean digital portfolio, and sell their work
All in one place.
The Problem
As a visual artist, I’ve seen how fragmented creative tools make it hard to stay organised and sell work consistently. Artists juggle their careers across disconnected platforms, while art lovers lack a focused space to discover and support creatives. ARTI brings both into one purpose-built product.

The Opportunity
Design a virtual assistant for artists.
A centralised platform that helps creatives manage their work while connecting them directly with people who want to discover and buy art.
The Spark
ARTI emerged from firsthand insight into creative workflows.
Many artists manage deadlines, portfolios, and opportunities across multiple platforms, creating unnecessary friction.
The product responds with a single, intuitive system that supports project management, opportunity tracking, and clear portfolio presentation.

Research & Insights
To understand if other artists felt the same, I interviewed 8 artist friends and surveyed 20 creatives.
85% said the admin gets in the way of making art
65% don’t have an up-to-date portfolio.
90% are interested in an app that combines task tracking, portfolio display, and social media sharing.

Making Sense of It All, I used affinity mapping to cluster feedback into themes
Pain Points — Admin overload, scattered deadlines
Desires — Simple portfolio builder, sales platform, reminders
Behaviors — Most artists post on Instagram but don’t archive their work anywhere permanent

Meet Our Users

User Goals

Manage projects and deadlines
Maintain a living portfolio
Sell work with minimal friction
Art lovers want to:
Discover new artists
Save and purchase art
Curate and share collections
From Ideas to Interfaces
Through sketches, wireframes, and interactive prototypes, I explored key user journeys across uploading, browsing, saving, and purchasing. Concept testing with users revealed a need for faster upload flows and stronger discovery tools. These insights guided a simplified interface and the introduction of artist- and artwork-based wishlists.

Final Design
Named “ARTI” because we’re all a bit… arty.
The final UI is minimal and calming, free of visual noise, allowing the artwork to shine and keeping admin tools intuitive and out of the way.

Reflection
This project taught me how layered an artist’s life really is, and how good design can ease the chaos.
Building ARTI made me reflect not only on UX, but on what artists truly need behind the scenes.
